Three Suspects Arraigned in Brownsville Homicide Case Following Fatal Shooting
On November 4, 2024, Allexsis Marie Street, 22, Kody Gonser, 20, and D’Marco Donez, 19, were arraigned for their roles in a homicide on November 1, 2024, in Brownsville.
Around 8:51 p.m. on November 1, Brownsville Police responded to a shooting report in the 9600 block of Anacua Street. Officers found 21-year-old Kevin Villafranca Torres unresponsive but breathing, with a gunshot wound to the head, on the southbound Frontage Road in front of 7077 N Expressway 77/83. Torres was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries on November 2.
Street and Gonser were arrested on November 2 in Harlingen, Texas, following a search of their residence. Donez was also apprehended in Harlingen later that day. Each faces charges of First-Degree Murder and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, with bonds set at $2 million each. Street and Gonser received an additional $5,000 bond for Failure to Report a Felony Involving Serious Bodily Injury or Death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
