Montgomery County Man Arrested For Using Artificial Intelligence to Produce Child Porn
On May 15, 2024, Montgomery County Constable Ryan Gable’s Human Trafficking Unit began an investigation involving a 30-year-old male, identified as Roman Shoffner.
Shoffner used an artificial intelligence program on his cellular phone to alter a picture of 17 year old female by removing her clothing. After the picture was altered, the image then depicted the 17 year old female’s face but her body was completely nude from the neck down. Shoffner’s phone was seized and forensically analyzed.
During the investigation, Pct. 3 Detectives obtained enough probable cause to believe Shoffner created the picture of the 17 year old female with intentions of possessing Child Pornography. An arrest warrant was filed for Shoffner.
On June 28, 2024, Shoffner was located by law enforcement and arrested for Possession of Child Pornography and was booked in the Montgomery County Jail.
