Repeat Child Predator Captured in Montgomery County

On Thursday, June 27th, 2024 The Texas Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigation’s Division, in conjunction with Constable Ryan Gable’s Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, executed a search warrant at a residence located in Houston, Texas.

The search warrant stemmed from the pro-active investigation compiled together by the Texas DPS and Montgomery County Precinct 3 ICAC Detectives’ proactive investigation into the offense of promotion and distribution of child pornography. The investigation revealed that the suspect, Jacob Kenneth Gates, was previously charged and convicted for child sex crimes. Gates is currently a lifetime registered sex offender on the Texas sex offender registry.

At the time of the search warrant it was found that Gates was associated with promoting and possessing thousands of images depicting infant and toddler aged child sexual assault material. Gates was charged with five counts of promotion/distribution of child pornography in Montgomery County. Gates was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.

Constable Gable’s Detectives will continue to hunt those who choose to hunt and exploit our children.
