Woman Arrested for Running Over Boyfriend in Brazoria After Heated Altercation
On May 22, 2024, at around 7:00 PM, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office received a distress call regarding a 30-year-old man who was run over by his girlfriend following a heated argument. The incident occurred in the 6300 block of FM 521 in Brazoria. The suspect, identified as 28-year-old Masen Austin, fled the scene in a grey BMW passenger car.
Witnesses stated that the victim was standing beside a truck outside a residence when the altercation erupted. Ms. Austin was asked to leave the property, prompting her to enter her vehicle. Eyewitnesses reported that Ms. Austin initially reversed her car but then drove directly towards the victim, striking him and trapping him between her car and the truck. After the incident, Ms. Austin fled the scene. The victim was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
In the early hours of May 23, 2024, around 12:00 AM, Ms. Austin and her vehicle were found at a convenience store in the 6400 block of FM 521 in Brazoria. Subsequently, Ms. Austin was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Family Violence. She is currently held in Brazoria County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
