Charming Prince and Tommy Johnson

SPRING, Texas – Two 17-year-old suspects were arrested Sunday, October 18, 2026, after Harris County deputies responded to reports of multiple vehicle burglaries in a Spring neighborhood, according to Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

The suspects, identified as Charming Prince, 17, and Tommy Johnson, 17, were taken into custody in the 19600 block of Westbridge Lane after deputies searched the surrounding area.

Both were booked into the Harris County Jail on vehicle burglary charges. Prince also faces an additional charge of evading arrest or detention.

Deputies Respond to Multiple Vehicle Burglary Reports

Deputies were dispatched to the 19600 block of Westbridge Lane after receiving multiple reports of vehicle burglaries involving two male suspects.

Residents in the neighborhood had expressed frustration over the break-ins and wanted law enforcement to apprehend those responsible.

When deputies arrived, they began searching the area for the suspects.

Officers initially located Prince, who allegedly fled on foot when approached.

Deputies quickly established a perimeter around the area to prevent him from escaping.

Following a search, deputies located Prince and took him into custody.

Second Suspect Located While Attempting to Leave Area

After arresting Prince, deputies continued searching the neighborhood for the second suspect.

They located Johnson, who was reportedly attempting to leave the area on foot.

Deputies detained Johnson and subsequently placed him under arrest in connection with the reported vehicle burglaries.

The constable’s office did not specify how many vehicles were burglarized or provide an inventory of the property allegedly stolen.

Authorities also did not announce whether any stolen items had been recovered.

Suspects Booked Into Harris County Jail, Bonds Set at $300 and $100

Following their arrests, both teenagers were transported to the Harris County Jail.

Charming Prince, 17, was charged with:

  • Two counts of burglary of a motor vehicle
  • Evading arrest or detention

Prince’s bond was set at $300 through Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 2.

Tommy Johnson, 17, was charged with:

  • Burglary of a motor vehicle

Johnson’s bond was set at $100 through Harris County Criminal Court at Law No. 11.

The sheriff’s office did not provide additional details about the suspects’ court appearances or whether either had been released after posting bond.

Both suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Vehicle Burglaries Can Occur Even in Residential Driveways

The arrests serve as a reminder that vehicle burglaries can occur in residential neighborhoods, including driveways and streets where residents may feel their vehicles are secure.

Vehicle burglars often target unattended cars because valuables can be accessed quickly, especially when doors are unlocked or personal belongings are visible through the windows.

Common targets include wallets, purses, cash, electronics, shopping bags and firearms.

Thieves may also move through neighborhoods checking door handles to identify unlocked vehicles rather than forcibly entering every car.

While vehicle burglaries can happen quickly, the circumstances and methods used in the Westbridge Lane incidents have not been fully disclosed by investigators.

How Residents Can Reduce the Risk of Vehicle Break-Ins

Law enforcement agencies recommend several precautions to help prevent vehicle burglaries:

  • Lock vehicle doors: Always lock your vehicle, even when parked in your driveway or directly outside your home.
  • Remove valuables: Avoid leaving purses, wallets, cash, electronics and shopping bags inside unattended vehicles.
  • Secure firearms: Do not leave firearms unsecured in a vehicle. Stolen guns can enter illegal markets and be used in other crimes.
  • Avoid leaving spare keys inside: Keep vehicle keys and spare key fobs in a secure location.
  • Park in visible areas: When possible, use well-lit parking areas or garages.
  • Report suspicious activity: Contact law enforcement if you notice individuals checking vehicle doors or moving suspiciously between parked cars.

Residents who discover that their vehicles have been burglarized should report the incident and provide any available surveillance footage to investigators.

Investigation Into Spring Vehicle Burglaries

The October 18 arrests followed reports from residents in the Westbridge Lane area.

Constable Mark Herman’s Office has not released an estimated total value of the stolen property or indicated whether additional charges are expected.

The investigation underscores the importance of reporting suspicious activity and taking precautions to protect vehicles and personal belongings.
