40-Year-Old Driver Killed in Rollover Crash on U.S. 90 in East Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A 40-year-old man died after his car left U.S. 90, struck a guardrail and concrete wall and rolled over early Sunday in east Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the major crash around 4:05 a.m. Sept. 27 in the 20700 block of U.S. 90.

Investigators said Paul Escobar was driving a 2020 Toyota Camry eastbound when he failed to maintain a single lane and left the roadway.

The Camry struck a guardrail and then a concrete wall connected to the guardrail. The impact caused the vehicle to roll before coming to rest in the grass on the south side of the wall, according to the preliminary investigation.

Emergency personnel with the Crosby Fire Department extricated Escobar from the wreckage.

Escobar was flown by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the crash. Authorities have not released information about what may have caused Escobar to leave the roadway.
