Passenger Killed, Three Injured After Fleeing Infiniti Crashes During Harris County Pursuit

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – One person was killed and three others were injured after an Infiniti fleeing Harris County sheriff’s deputies crashed and rolled over on Ella Boulevard, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The pursuit began around 11:18 p.m. Sept. 13 near the 13900 block of Veterans Memorial Drive when deputies attempted to stop a black 2013 Infiniti G37.
The unidentified driver refused to stop and fled from marked Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicles that had their emergency equipment activated, investigators said.
The Infiniti eventually traveled south on Ella Boulevard. According to the preliminary investigation, the vehicle entered a curve in the 16700 block at an unsafe speed, struck multiple curbs and then rolled over on a raised median in the 16500 block.
Jonathan Garcia Molina was ejected from the Infiniti during the crash. ESD 11 medics found him with no signs of life at approximately 11:33 p.m.
Three other occupants, identified as Yostifer Cacho Martinez, Marely Bahena and Baylie Bell, suffered minor injuries and were transported to HCA Houston Northwest Hospital. Authorities said all three showed no signs of intoxication and were later released.
The Sheriff’s Office did not identify which of the four occupants was driving the Infiniti, referring to the driver in its report only as an unknown operator.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the fatal crash.
