Houston Man Charged With Murder in Fatal Craigmont Street Shooting

HOUSTON, Texas — Houston police have arrested and charged a man in connection with the fatal shooting of another man last week in northwest Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance call at approximately 7:20 p.m. on June 26 in the 2500 block of Craigmont Street.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Responding officers detained 37-year-old Guillermo Hernandez Jr. a few blocks from the scene.

After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, investigators charged Hernandez with murder. He has been booked on the charge in the 209th State District Court.

Houston Police Department Homicide Division Detectives J. Smith and D. Toledo are continuing the investigation.
