19-Year-Old Woman Killed in Overnight Crash on Old Humble Road in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A 19-year-old woman was killed early Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Old Humble Road, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division responded at approximately 1:30 a.m. on June 28 to the 14700 block of Old Humble Road to investigate the fatal collision.
According to the preliminary investigation, a Nissan Altima was traveling southwest when the driver failed to maintain a single lane and drove onto the grassy median.
Investigators said the Altima then lost control and began skidding across the roadway. As it entered the first northeastbound lane, a Toyota Tundra was unable to avoid the vehicle and struck the Altima on the right passenger side.
The impact caused the Nissan to spin violently before coming to rest on the grassy shoulder of the northeastbound lanes.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as 19-year-old Anamaris Rodriguez-Madera, suffered fatal injuries. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota Tundra was not reported injured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with investigators.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is continuing to investigate the crash.
