Houston Teen Arrested in Armed Facebook Marketplace Robbery Case

HOUSTON, Texas — A Houston teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery that occurred during a Facebook Marketplace transaction earlier this year, according to the Houston Police Department.
Treveyon Wyche, 19, is charged with Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon in the 176th State District Court.
The charge stems from an incident reported on January 30, 2026, at approximately 1:45 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 7500 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard.
According to investigators, the victim arranged to meet a potential buyer through Facebook Marketplace to sell an item. Upon arriving at the agreed location, the suspect allegedly produced a firearm and robbed the victim of the item at gunpoint.
Police said the victim was able to flee the scene unharmed and later reported the robbery to authorities.
A Houston Police Department robbery detective conducted a follow-up investigation and identified Wyche as a possible suspect. After additional investigative work, detectives positively identified him and filed charges on February 20, 2026. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued.
On April 29, 2026, members of the Houston Police Department’s Crime Suppression Team located Wyche and observed him entering a vehicle. Officers conducted a felony traffic stop and confirmed his identity before taking him into custody without incident.
Wyche was transported to the Harris County Jail and booked on the outstanding aggravated robbery warrant.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Houston police continue to remind residents using online marketplaces to conduct transactions in well-lit public locations and, when possible, utilize designated safe exchange zones monitored by law enforcement agencies.
