HOUSTON, Texas — A Houston man has been charged with murder after investigators say he intentionally struck and killed a woman with a vehicle following an argument in southwest Houston.

Rudolfo Pinon III, 25, is charged with murder in the 338th State District Court in connection with the death of 26-year-old Galilea Adan.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a crash call at approximately 1:45 a.m. on June 14 in the 7500 block of Bellerive Drive.

When officers arrived, they found Adan lying in a traffic lane. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Investigators learned that several individuals had been leaving a nightclub when an argument broke out.

Witnesses told police that a driver pulled over and multiple occupants exited the vehicle. At some point during the confrontation, the driver returned to the vehicle and struck Adan before fleeing the scene.

A short time later, officers located the gray SUV involved in the incident abandoned several miles away.

Houston Police Department Homicide Division investigators identified Pinon as the driver through their investigation.

Pinon was arrested on June 15 and formally charged with murder for his alleged role in the incident.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the nature of the argument or the relationship between Pinon and Adan.

The investigation remains ongoing.
