Houston Police Seek Two Persons of Interest in Fatal Sugar Land Shooting

HOUSTON, Texas — Houston police are asking for the public’s help in locating two persons of interest in the fatal shooting of a man at a strip center within Sugar Land city limits earlier this month.

Investigators have identified the individuals as 23-year-old Iddris Umaru and 22-year-old Axzey Mojica. Police emphasized that neither individual has been charged in the case at this time.

The shooting occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on June 6 at 10055 Belknap Road.

Houston Police Department patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of a strip center and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, identified as 39-year-old Sean Bree, was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The investigation is being led by HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Smith and D. Toledo.

According to investigators, evidence gathered during the investigation led detectives to identify Umaru and Mojica as persons of interest in the case. Surveillance footage also captured two individuals believed to be the pair fleeing the scene after the shooting.
