Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Shooting During Stolen Vehicle Confrontation in Houston

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A Houston-area man has been charged with murder after a confrontation involving a stolen vehicle left one man dead and another injured, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at approximately 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, to the 11800 block of Tidwell regarding a reported carjacking.

While detectives were investigating the theft, authorities said the owner of the stolen vehicle located the vehicle and reportedly confronted a possible suspect. During the encounter, the suspect allegedly shot the vehicle owner and fled the scene.

The wounded man was transported to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities identified the victim as 56-year-old Louis Erebia.

A second man was also shot during the incident but survived his injuries.

Crime Scene Investigators and Homicide Detectives responded and launched an investigation.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office announced that London Hogan Sr., 37, has been charged with murder in connection with Erebia’s death. Hogan also faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the non-fatal shooting of the second victim and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Hogan was booked into the Harris County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
