Man Charged After Bar Fight Leaves Victim Critically Injured in Northwest Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – A Harris County man has been charged with aggravated assault after investigators say he punched another man during a disturbance outside a bar, leaving the victim critically injured.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on April 22 to a disturbance at Lone Star Ice House.
When deputies arrived, they learned an adult male had already been transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Detectives with the sheriff’s office Violent Crimes Unit launched an investigation and determined the victim had been struck in the head with a closed fist during the altercation. Investigators said the blow caused the victim to fall to the ground, where he suffered a second impact when his head struck the floor.
The suspect was identified as 26-year-old Diego Orlando Pacheco.
After reviewing the evidence, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
