Cyber Patrol Snare: Tech Worker Jailed in Harris County as Task Force Finds Child Erotica Cache
Arrest of Sergio Guel

HOCKLEY, TX — A 31-year-old former private security officer and technology worker has been arrested in northwest Harris County after cybercrime investigators discovered hundreds of illicit images stored on his personal electronic devices.

Sergio Guel was arrested following a raid at his Hockley residence by the Harris County Constable Precinct 1 Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit. He is currently facing a felony charge of Possession of Lewd Visual Material Depicting a Child.

Cyberspace Patrol Targets Hockley Residence

The arrest is the result of a proactive, ongoing operation spearheaded by Precinct 1’s ICAC Unit, which operates as a specialized division within the broader Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Acting on digital leads, investigators secured a search warrant for Guel’s home. During the raid, detectives seized an electronic device containing a massive cache of what authorities described as “child erotica.” Forensic analysts believe the hundreds of recovered images were actively downloaded from various online platforms over a sustained period.

Because technicians are still cataloging and analyzing the vast amount of data found on the seized hardware, authorities noted that additional, more severe charges are highly probable.

Suspect’s Background Triggers Appeal for Information

According to state licensing databases and court records, Guel has previously been commissioned by the State of Texas as a licensed private security officer and has an extensive professional background working within the technology sector.

Due to the nature of the suspect’s previous employment and specific evidence uncovered during the initial phase of the digital forensics review, detectives are deeply concerned that minor children may have been directly impacted.

“We protect children and we will never stop,” Constable Alan Rosen said. “Let this be a reminder and a warning: our detectives patrol cyberspace and they will catch those who sexually exploit children. If you see something, say something. Together, we can keep our community safer.”

Guel is currently charged with a state-jail felony, which carries a statutory penalty of up to two years of confinement alongside a court-ordered financial penalty.

Task force detectives are urging anyone with information regarding Guel, his online personas, or any potential instances of sexual impropriety involving children to contact the Precinct 1 ICAC Unit directly at 713-222-4929.
