Houston Woman Arrested for DWI After Pursuit on Beltway 8, Deputies Say

HOUSTON — An 18-year-old woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly fleeing from deputies during a traffic stop in west Houston, according to Constable Mark Herman’s Office.
Deputies said the traffic stop occurred May 16, 2026, in the 9500 block of West Sam Houston Parkway North.
According to investigators, the driver fled during the stop, leading deputies on a pursuit before eventually stopping.
Authorities said the suspect was safely taken into custody and identified as 18-year-old Lyriq Sanaa Brown.
Deputies reported Brown showed multiple signs of intoxication and was given Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which investigators said indicated she was intoxicated.
Further investigation determined Brown’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.091, above the legal limit, according to deputies.
Brown was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of Evading Arrest and Detention and Driving While Intoxicated.
Officials said her bond was set at $7,600 through the 176th District Court and County Court 6.
