Houston Police Arrest Man Charged in Killing at Bellaire Boulevard Business

HOUSTON, Texas — A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the death of a man found inside a business in Houston’s Little Saigon area earlier this month, according to the Houston Police Department.

Police identified the suspect as Christopher Lee Bowden, who has been charged in the 182nd Criminal District Court.

The victim was identified as 54-year-old Chun Chen.

According to Houston Police Department Homicide Division Detectives L. Lovelace and M. Althaus, officers responded around 12:05 p.m. on May 8, 2026, to a business located at 10515 Bellaire Boulevard after a co-worker went to check on Chen when he could not be reached.

Investigators said the co-worker entered the business and found Chen unresponsive on the floor.

Responding officers and paramedics with the Houston Fire Department pronounced Chen dead at the scene. Authorities said he had suffered apparent blunt force trauma.

During the investigation, detectives identified Bowden as the suspect in the killing.

Police said Bowden was arrested May 13 by officers with the Houston Police Department Westside Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team and booked into the Harris County Jail.
