CYPRESS, Texas — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a driver on intoxication and drug charges, authorities said.

According to Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on April 23, 2026, in the 14100 block of Mueschke Road.

The driver, identified as 49-year-old Chansamo Souriyaoungxay, showed multiple signs of intoxication. Deputies administered standardized field sobriety tests and determined he was impaired.

During the investigation, deputies also discovered a large quantity of cocaine in his possession.

Souriyaoungxay was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. He is charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Officials said bond and court information have not yet been set.

Constable Mark Herman said the arrest underscores the dangers posed by impaired driving and narcotics trafficking.

The investigation remains ongoing.
