HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A Crosby woman was arrested following a traffic stop that led to a driving while intoxicated investigation and the discovery of outstanding warrants, officials said.

On March 23, 2026, at approximately 6:19 p.m., Deputy S. Margison conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. The driver was identified as 35-year-old Ashley Murray of Crosby.

According to deputies, upon making contact, Margison detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and observed that Murray appeared extremely fidgety and unable to sit still. She was asked multiple times to exit the vehicle but refused.

Deputies then attempted to assist Murray out of the vehicle when she allegedly placed the car back into drive. Deputy Spray, who was also on scene, entered the vehicle from the passenger side, shifted it into park, and prevented it from moving.

Murray was removed from the vehicle, and deputies conducted an intoxication investigation. Authorities said she became uncooperative and combative during the process. Deputies ultimately determined she was unable to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Further investigation revealed Murray had outstanding warrants from both the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office.

She was taken into custody on the warrants, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of driving while intoxicated, second offense.

Murray was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center and booked without further incident. Her bond was set at $4,000.
