16-year-old Killed at Southeast Houston Apartment Complex, No Suspects Identified

HOUSTON, Texas — Houston police are investigating a shooting that left a 16-year-old boy dead Saturday night in southeast Houston.
The incident occurred around 9:25 p.m. on May 6 at the Crystal Springs Apartments in the 5900 block of Selinsky Road.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the apartment complex. When they arrived, they found a juvenile male suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Authorities have identified the victim as 16-year-old Christopher Lenette.
Investigators say the victim and his family had just arrived at their apartment complex when an unknown suspect or suspects opened fire on their vehicle. Other family members who were inside the vehicle were not injured during the shooting.
At this time, detectives say there is no known motive and no suspect information.
The case is being investigated by HPD Homicide Division Detectives S. Chettry and H. Martinez.
