La Porte Man Arrested After Discovery of Over 48,000 Child Abuse Files

LA PORTE, Texas – La Porte police arrested 47 year old Dallas Vernon Lott on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, following a forensic investigation that uncovered tens of thousands of illicit digital files. Lott is charged with multiple counts of possession and promotion of child pornography, according to warrants issued by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Division. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently held in the Harris County Jail.
The investigation began in August 2025 when the La Porte Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit received several tips regarding the downloading of child sexual abuse material within the city. Investigators traced the digital activity to a specific residence, leading to the execution of a search warrant on October 1, 2025, in the 11000 block of Birch Drive.
During the search of the home, detectives seized nearly a dozen electronic devices, including cellular phones and data storage units. Extensive forensic examinations of the equipment revealed a total of 48,620 individual pictures and videos depicting child sexual abuse.
The La Porte Police Department conducted the investigation in coordination with the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Federal Task Force. Local authorities stated the arrest is part of an ongoing commitment to prosecute individuals who utilize online platforms to exploit children.
