Predator Who Betrayed Family Trust in Odessa Sentenced to Decades Behind Bars
Cameron Williams

ODESSA, TX — An Ector County jury has delivered a forceful verdict against a man who exploited his position of trust to abuse a 15-year-old girl. On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, Cameron Williams, 32, was found guilty of four counts of Sexual Assault of a Child, a second-degree felony.

Following the guilty verdict, the jury moved to the punishment phase, ensuring Williams will spend the next several decades behind bars.

The Investigation: A Suicidal Cry for Help

The case against Williams began with a harrowing 911 call on July 20, 2024. Ector County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence regarding a suicidal individual.

  • The Discovery: Upon arrival, officers met with the victim’s mother. She had recently uncovered that her 15-year-old daughter was trapped in an illegal relationship with Williams.
  • Betrayal of Trust: At the time of the offense, Williams was 30 years old and a trusted family friend.
  • The Admission: Williams initially denied any sexual contact during police interviews. However, as the investigation progressed, he ultimately admitted to the inappropriate and criminal nature of the relationship.

Consecutive Sentencing: 45 Years Total

Judge Denn Whalen of the 70th District Court presided over the trial. In a move reflecting the severity of the serial abuse, the sentences for each count were ordered to run consecutively (back-to-back) rather than concurrently:

  • Counts 1, 2, and 3: 10 years each (30 years total).
  • Count 4: 15 years.
  • Total Term: 45 Years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
