Man Arrested in Armed Robbery and Assault at Houston Holiday Inn Express

HOUSTON, Texas – Detectives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division have arrested a suspect accused of carrying out an armed robbery at a Holiday Inn Express hotel earlier this year, authorities said.

Michael Querry, 25, was taken into custody in connection with a Jan. 8 aggravated robbery at the hotel located in the 6100 block of East Sam Houston Parkway.

Investigators said Querry entered the hotel and forced two employees at gunpoint to comply with demands for cash. When employees told him no money was available, Querry allegedly struck the hotel manager multiple times in the head with a pistol before fleeing the scene.

One victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the assault.

Detectives identified Querry through surveillance footage and follow-up investigation, including locating the vehicle used during the escape. Authorities obtained an arrest warrant, and Querry was arrested Feb. 23. Investigators said he later confessed to his involvement in the robbery.

Querry, who has a prior felony conviction, was booked into the Harris County Jail on two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit at 713-274-9365 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
