Suspect Arrested in September 2025 Fatal Shooting at Southwest Houston Strip Center
Franco Morales-Aguilar

HOUSTON, Texas – A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man at 7243 Bissonnet Street in southwest Houston.

Franco Morales-Aguilar, 22, has been charged with murder in the 230th Criminal District Court. He was arrested on February 17th and booked into the Harris County Jail. A booking photo has been released.

The victim had been identified as 33-year-old Anzoni Zuniga-Garcia.

According to HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Burrow and Detectives E. May and C. Sharp, patrol officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 10:10 p.m. on September 6, 2025, in a strip center parking lot at the above address. Officers located Zuniga-Garcia unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police said Zuniga-Garcia had been arguing with his girlfriend in a parking lot near Bissonnet Street and Fondren Road around 10 p.m. and had walked away from her. Investigators said a dark-colored Ford SUV then drove up, and an individual exited the vehicle and shot Zuniga-Garcia.

Zuniga-Garcia’s girlfriend attempted to render aid, but he died at the scene. She was not injured in the shooting.

Investigators believe the shooting appears to be unrelated to the earlier argument.

Investigators say a five-month investigation led to the identification of Morales-Aguilar as the suspect in the case. The investigation remains ongoing.
