Houston Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Downtown Chipotle Shooting; Victim Identified as Deputy’s Son

Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at the Chipotle Mexican Grill located at 909 Texas Street in Downtown Houston around 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 14.
The suspect, 21-year-old Nicholas Taylor Youngblood, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 228th Criminal District Court. Authorities say upgraded charges are pending following the victim’s death.
The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Curtis Moore, the son of a Harris County Sheriff’s Office sergeant.
According to Houston Police Department Major Assaults Division Detective A. Alvarez, officers responded to a shooting call at the restaurant and found Moore suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators say Moore and Youngblood were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into gunfire. Records indicate Youngblood fired nine shots at the victim.
Responding officers detained Youngblood a few blocks from the scene. After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, he was arrested and formally charged in connection with the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
