Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting Outside West Houston Strip Center

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Friday night in west Houston.

Jordan Fobb has been charged with murder in the 209th Criminal District Court for the death of 42-year-old Maxie Worthy.

According to investigators with the Houston Police Department Homicide Division, officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Friday, February 6, in the 1900 block of South Kirkwood Drive. The scene was outside a strip center.

When officers arrived, they found Worthy suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene.

Detectives later identified Fobb as a suspect in the case. On Sunday, February 8, Fobb was taken into custody by HPD’s Westside Patrol Division Tactical Unit on an unrelated charge. Following further investigation, he was formally charged with murder in connection with Worthy’s death.

The investigation remains ongoing.
