Hockley Woman Arrested After Attempting to Set Roommate on Fire

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – On January 29, 2026, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to an aggravated assault call in the 24000 block of Broken Bow Lane in Hockley.

According to investigators, the complainant reported that her roommate poured paint thinner over her body and then attempted to set both her and the residence on fire. Deputies arrived on scene and located the suspect, later identified as 51-year-old Maiani Holloway.

Evidence collected at the residence, along with witness statements, corroborated the victim’s account of the incident. Based on the findings, deputies arrested Holloway without incident.

Holloway was booked into the Harris County Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Her bond was set at $20,000 out of the 487th District Court.
