West Houston Man Arrested on Child Pornography Possession Charges
Joseph Guadalupe Rivas

HOUSTON, Texas – A 40-year-old man from west Houston has been arrested following the discovery of hundreds of sexually explicit photos and videos of children in his home, Harris County Constable Precinct One Alan Rosen announced.

Joseph Guadalupe Rivas faces three first-degree felony charges of possession of child pornography. Each charge carries a potential penalty of up to 99 years or life in prison.

The arrest was carried out at Rivas’s residence by the Constable Precinct One’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit, which is part of the Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

“We’ll never stop protecting children and we’ll never stop searching those who seek to prey on them,” Constable Rosen said. “Let this be another warning: our deputies are on patrol in cyberspace, and if you are preying on children, they will catch you.”

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with additional information about Rivas’s inappropriate interactions with children to contact detectives with the ICAC Unit at 713-222-4929.

Rivas is known to frequent roller skating locations, including Bear Creek and other areas in the Houston region.
