Auto Crimes Task Force Arrests Burglary Suspect After Stolen Trailer Investigation In League City

LEAGUE CITY, Texas – The Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force has arrested a burglary suspect following an investigation that began with the recovery of a stolen trailer in Texas City.
On January 25, 2026, the Texas City Police Department contacted the task force after officers located a stolen trailer at a storage facility on FM 3436. Investigators determined the storage unit had been unlawfully entered and that the trailer, loaded with building materials believed to be stolen, had been left behind.
Through covert surveillance, investigators identified the suspect as 55-year-old Eric Padinah. Authorities say Padinah was actively removing stolen materials from the storage unit when he was located in the 4600 block of FM 646 in League City. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division assisted with the apprehension.
The case was presented to the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, and Padinah was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Building. His bond was set at $60,000.
