MAGNOLIA, TX – An 11-year-old Magnolia ISD student has died after suffering a medical emergency while riding a school bus Tuesday morning, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 7:38 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, Montgomery County 911 dispatch received an emergency call reporting an unresponsive child aboard a Magnolia ISD school bus that was en route to school. In a statement, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office expressed condolences to the student’s family, friends, teachers, and the entire Magnolia ISD community, noting that many involved are parents themselves and are deeply affected by the loss.
The Magnolia ISD School Resource Officer program is led by Precinct 5 Constable Chris Jones, who also issued a statement expressing solidarity with the family and school community.
