Stolen Truck Rampage: Pursuit Ends in Multiple Crashes and Arrest of Wanted Felon in Harris County
Arrest of Casey Harris

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A routine traffic stop escalated into a destructive multi-vehicle pursuit on Friday, January 9, 2026, after a suspect in a stolen heavy-duty truck led Harris County Constable deputies on a chase through busy local roads and parking lots.

The Pursuit Begins

The incident began when deputies with Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office spotted a vehicle with an expired registration and an incorrect license plate. When deputies attempted to pull the driver over, the suspect refused to stop and fled in a Ford F-550. He was later identified as 39-year-old Casey Harris.

A Trail of Damage

As the pursuit unfolded, the heavy-duty truck caused a series of collisions across the area:

  • FM 1960 & Walters Road: The suspect struck the side mirror of a Ford bus.
  • Walmart Parking Lot: Harris drove into a crowded parking lot, where he slammed into an occupied parked vehicle. He fled that scene without stopping to check for injuries or render aid.
  • Roadway Re-entry: Upon returning to the main road, the suspect struck the side mirror of another vehicle.
  • Louetta & Kuykendahl Road: The chase finally came to an end at this intersection after Harris collided with two additional vehicles.

Arrest and Investigation

Following the final collision at Louetta and Kuykendahl, deputies were able to take Harris into custody without further incident. A subsequent investigation revealed that the Ford F-550 had been reported stolen out of neighboring Montgomery County.

Furthermore, deputies discovered that Harris was already a wanted man. He had an active felony warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

Charges and Bond

Casey Harris was booked into the Harris County Jail. He currently faces several charges related to the afternoon’s events:

  • Evading Arrest
  • Failure to Stop and Render Aid (Two Counts)

His total bond has been set at $90,000.00 out of the 248th District Court.
