Man Charged With Capital Murder in 2024 West Houston Apartment Shooting

Houston police have taken a 21-year-old man into custody in connection with a September 2024 shooting that left a West Houston resident dead.
Investigators say D’Marion Manuel is now charged with capital murder in the death of 23-year-old Austin Pham.
Officers were called to The Link Apartments at 14723 West Oaks Plaza Drive around 10:55 p.m. on September 14 after a report of gunfire and several people seen running from the area with weapons. When officers arrived, they found Pham unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.
Detectives later identified Manuel as the suspect. On Tuesday, November 18, HPD’s Westside Patrol Crime Suppression Team located and arrested him. He has since been booked into the Harris County Jail on the capital murder charge.
