Waller County Deputies Apprehend Fleeing Suspect with Multiple Felony Warrants

WALLER COUNTY, TX – The Waller County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Team, with assistance from the K9 Division, arrested 40-year-old Byron Wayne Garfield after he attempted to flee deputies serving multiple felony warrants.
When deputies arrived at Garfield’s residence, he ran on foot, prompting a pursuit. Thanks to the K9 Unit, deputies quickly apprehended him without further incident.
At the time of his arrest, Garfield had six active felony warrants, including:
- Two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
- Evading Arrest or Detention with a Previous Conviction
- Tampering/Fabricating Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair
- Theft of Property under $2,500 with Two or More Prior Convictions
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 1, less than 1 gram)
Due to his attempt to flee, Garfield was also charged with an additional count of Evading Arrest or Detention with a Previous Conviction. He was transported to the Waller County Jail, where he remains in custody pending pre-trial proceedings.
