Waller County Man Arrested in Infant Homicide Case

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — A nearly two-year investigation into the death of a three-month-old infant has led to an arrest, authorities announced this week.

The Prairie View Police Department began investigating on December 19, 2023, after the infant sustained fatal injuries. An autopsy later confirmed the death was a homicide, not an accident.

With assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Waller County Sheriff’s Office, investigators identified 52-year-old Shawn Kimble Washington as a suspect. Washington was arrested on September 23, 2025, by Waller County deputies.

He is charged with Murder and Injury to a Child with Serious Bodily Injury. Washington’s bond was set at $100,000.
