Investigation Continues in Death of Woman Found in Brays Bayou

HOUSTON — Authorities are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found in Brays Bayou on September 15.
The victim has been identified as Jade Elise McKissic, 20, by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
According to Houston Police Department Homicide Division Sergeant M. Brady, McKissic was last seen around 1 a.m. on September 11 in the 3700 block of North MacGregor Way. She had been out with friends at local bars but left alone, leaving her cell phone behind. Surveillance video later showed her purchasing a drink at a nearby gas station before walking toward Brays Bayou.
Her body was discovered four days later about 2.5 miles from where she was last seen. The medical examiner’s office reported no signs of trauma or foul play. The cause of death remains under investigation.
