Houston Man Arrested in Fatal Mount Pleasant Street Shooting

Houston, TX – Houston police have arrested John Guy Tucker, 54, in connection with the fatal shooting of Angela Perry, 51, and the wounding of a 67-year-old man at 3804 Mount Pleasant Street on August 16, 2025, around 7:30 p.m.

According to the HPD Homicide Division, patrol officers responding to the scene found Perry unresponsive in the living room with multiple gunshot wounds. A male victim was located in a bedroom with multiple gunshot injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Perry was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators identified Tucker as the suspect. After consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Tucker was charged on August 21 with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 209th Criminal District Court.

Tucker was arrested on September 8, 2025, by HPD Downtown Patrol Division officers and booked into the Harris County Jail.
