Pearland Teen Arrested After Fatal Stabbing of Father, Police Say

PEARLAND, TX – A 16-year-old has been taken into custody after his father was found fatally stabbed inside their Pearland home early Tuesday morning, according to police.

On September 9, 2025, around 6:24 a.m., Pearland Police officers responded to a residence in the 9000 block of Sundown Drive for a death investigation. Inside, they discovered 43-year-old Willie Washington suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators noted that Washington’s truck was missing. Using the city’s Flock License Plate Reader system, police located the vehicle in Houston. Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled, leading to a pursuit that ended in a crash.

The driver, identified as Washington’s 16-year-old son, was taken into custody. Detectives say evidence collected during the investigation provided probable cause to charge him with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Member, a first-degree felony.

The teen is currently being held at the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Center. Police say the case remains under active investigation.
