Driver Critically Injured in Shooting During Drug Deal in Northwest Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas—A driver is in critical condition and a passenger was injured after their vehicle crashed into a home following a shooting that took place during a narcotics transaction.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office patrol units responded to a major accident in the 5300 block of Champions Way Lane near Klein Forest High School. They found a vehicle that had crashed into a home, and discovered that both occupants had been shot. The driver was shot in the head, and the passenger sustained minor wounds.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide detectives determined the shooting occurred in the roadway in front of the home during a drug transaction. The suspects are believed to be two black males, in their late teens or early twenties, who may live in or near the neighborhood.

The driver, who was shot in the head, is currently in critical condition at a local hospital with an unknown prognosis.
