Woman Arrested for Resisting Deputies During School Zone Traffic Stop in Houston

Harris County Constable Precinct 3 deputies conducted a traffic stop on a gray Nissan Rogue for excessive speeding in a 20 mph school zone in the 12700 block of Tidwell Road near the C.E. King High School campus. The driver, later identified as Yolanda Davis, initially provided false personal information.
When deputies attempted to detain her, Davis resisted by pulling away and locking her arms, preventing handcuffing. Deputies were ultimately able to gain control and take her into custody.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges for “failure to identify” and “interfering with public duties.” Davis was transported to the Harris County Jail and released to jail staff without further incident.
Officials reminded drivers to obey school zone speed limits to ensure the safety of children.
