Man Arrested for Assaulting Deputy After Throwing Rocks at Vehicles in Cypress

CYPRESS, TX – A man was arrested and charged with Assault on a Public Servant after he allegedly threw rocks at moving vehicles and became combative with deputies.

On August 1, 2025, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the 18000 block of Huffmeister Road in Cypress, TX, following reports of a male throwing rocks at vehicles, including a U.S. Postal Service truck.

Deputies located the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Nicholas Proulx, and attempted to detain him. Proulx allegedly became combative and kicked one of the deputies. After a brief struggle, multiple deputies were able to force him down and handcuff him.

Proulx was booked into the Harris County Jail. His bond and court information have not yet been set.
