Motorcyclist Dies After Falling 90 Feet from Grand Parkway Connector Ramp

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A man died early Monday morning after a motorcycle crash on the Grand Parkway connector ramp, according to the Harris County Vehicular Crimes Division.

At approximately 3:46 a.m. on July 21, 2025, Ismael David Hernandez-Pernia was traveling eastbound in the 23600 block of the Katy Freeway on a black 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 500. Authorities say Hernandez-Pernia exited the freeway and entered the elevated Grand Parkway South connector ramp.

While navigating a right-hand curve, Hernandez-Pernia failed to maintain a single lane and struck the concrete barrier on the northwest side of the ramp. He was thrown from the motorcycle and fell approximately 90 feet.

A passerby noticed the motorcycle lying on its side near the barrier and called 911. Emergency medical services located Hernandez-Pernia at the scene and found no signs of life.

The incident is under investigation by the Harris County Vehicular Crimes Division.
