Man Found Dead After Fire in Abandoned Houston Home

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police are investigating the death of a man found after a fire at an abandoned residence located at 3104 Burkett Street around 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16.

Houston Fire Department personnel discovered the unresponsive adult male while extinguishing the fire. He had suffered severe burns and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the man is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Houston Police Department Homicide Division Detectives K. Amri and D. Toledo are leading the investigation.

The man’s cause of death is pending autopsy results.
