Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest, known by the names “Butta” or “Budah,” who may have information regarding the fatal stabbing of 19-year-old Thomas Bazile in the Meyerland area on April 30. This individual is not considered a suspect at this time.

The appeal comes as a suspect, Anton Addison, 18, has already been arrested and charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court. Addison, identified as the victim’s brother, is currently in custody.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay, B. Stephens, M. Castillo, and M. Perez reported that officers responded to an assault report in an apartment complex courtyard at 5499 Braesvalley Drive around 12:20 a.m. on April 30. They found Bazile lying in a breezeway with multiple stab wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Witnesses told officers that an argument between two males escalated into a physical altercation before the suspect fled to a nearby abandoned apartment and then fled the scene entirely. Addison was identified and subsequently arrested by officers with the HPD Southeast Patrol Division’s Crime Suppression Team on May 7, and he was booked into the Harris County Jail.

Further investigation has led detectives to seek the individual known as “Butta” or “Budah,” whose photos were released by police.

Anyone with information on the person of interest or the case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
