Houston Police Needs Help Identifying Two Men in 2023 Fatal Shooting Investigation

The Houston Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying two persons of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Jahlill Zachary, 22. The incident was reported around 8:45 p.m. on December 30, 2023, at 832 West Greens Road.

Officers responded to a shooting call at the apartment complex and found Zachary suffering from a gunshot wound. He had reportedly knocked on several residents’ doors seeking help before being located by officers. Paramedics transported Zachary to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

According to investigators, the shooting did not occur at the West Greens Road location. Detectives believe Zachary was transported to that site by unknown individuals.

Detectives are looking to identify two black males who were seen with Zachary several hours before the shooting. The individuals are considered persons of interest and are not suspects at this time. Photos of both individuals have been released.
