Man Arrested in Sealy Vehicle Burglary Case After Attempting to Sell Stolen Property

A Houston man is in custody after Sealy Police linked him to multiple vehicle burglaries and caught him attempting to sell stolen property.

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, around 10:45 a.m., Sealy Police Department patrol officers responded to reports of a vehicle burglary in the 900 block of Meyer Street. Investigating officers discovered that six vehicles in the area had been burglarized.

By Monday morning, June 2, investigators with the Sealy PD Criminal Investigation Division identified a suspect attempting to sell property stolen during the burglaries. Undercover investigators arranged a meeting with the suspect, posing as buyers. When the suspect arrived, he was taken into custody.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Cedric Cortez Brown of Houston, was found to have stolen property from the burglaries inside his vehicle. Investigators also discovered illegal narcotics during a search of the vehicle.

Brown has been charged with:

  • Theft $2,500 to $30,000 – State Jail Felony
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 – State Jail Felony

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
