Teenager and Adult Sister Charged in Drive-By Shooting in East Harris County

A 16-year-old male and his adult sister have been charged after a drive-by shooting in the 1731 block of Chamberlain Street in East Harris County on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office East District Patrol Deputies responded to the scene after complainants reported that a silver Lexus SUV drove by their residence three times, with someone inside firing a rifle at the house and its occupants. Deputies located the suspect SUV in a mobile home park in the 1600 block of Aldine Mail Route and detained three adults and the juvenile male.
Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division East Assault Unit determined that the 16-year-old juvenile male allegedly discharged multiple rounds from a rifle at the residence while being driven by his sister, Melody Britton, born on March 28, 2007 (age 18). The rifle used in the shooting was recovered by detectives.
Both the juvenile male and Melody Britton have been charged with Aggravated Assault. The juvenile was booked into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Facility, and Britton was booked into the Harris County Jail.
