9 Arrested in League City Jewelry Store Robberies; Multi-Agency Investigation Leads to Breakthrough

League City, TX – Detectives with the League City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), working alongside the Houston Police Department’s Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT), have arrested nine individuals linked to an aggravated robbery at Sunny’s Jewelry and Watch Repair inside H-E-B at 2955 S Gulf Freeway on July 28, 2025. Authorities believe the group is also tied to multiple similar robberies across the Houston area.

On Thursday, August 28, 2025, eight suspects were arrested in coordinated operations across Houston. A ninth suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

Arrested Individuals:

  • Tommie Coleman (20), Houston — Aggravated Robbery ($1M bond); Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
  • Jerell Davis (33), Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
  • Shannon Evans (46), Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
  • Laquincya Johnson (20), Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
  • Monica Thompson (34), Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
  • Patricia Thompson (65), Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
  • Valencia Thompson (51), Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)
  • Vanessa Thompson (24), Houston — Aggravated Robbery (No bond); Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (No bond)
  • Aron Wilson (33), Houston — Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity ($1M bond)

The arrests followed a comprehensive investigation conducted by LCPD’s Criminal Investigations Division. Detectives secured warrants for the suspects, with additional charges possible as the case continues.

The League City Police Department credited the success of the operation to the collaboration of the CAT team, which includes members of the Houston Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the FBI Houston Field Office. Officials also thanked Judge Jeth Jones of the 122nd Judicial District Court of Galveston County for issuing multiple search and arrest warrants.

The investigation remains ongoing.
