Houston Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 40-year-old man that occurred at 7959 Sunbury Street around 7:10 p.m. on Thursday (April 18).

The victim’s identity is awaiting confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Upon responding to reports of a shooting at the specified location, HPD patrol officers discovered the victim unresponsive in his apartment. Despite efforts by Houston Fire Department paramedics, the man was pronounced deceased due to a gunshot wound.

Witnesses report that the victim was on his balcony when two unidentified black males passed by and shot him. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a green Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.
