21 Defendants Sentenced in Wichita Falls Federal Drug Conspiracy Case

Beginning in October 2022, officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department’s Special Operations Division launched an investigation into individuals distributing illegal narcotics throughout Wichita Falls and North Texas. In March 2023, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Wichita Falls Resident Agency adopted the case.

Over the following year, WFPD Special Operations, FBI agents, and task force officers conducted extensive surveillance, interviews, search warrants, and controlled drug buys to build a federal conspiracy case. The investigation resulted in the seizure of 6,789.2 grams of methamphetamine, 719 grams of powder cocaine, 55.1 grams of crack cocaine, 2,197 counterfeit M-30 pills laced with fentanyl, 50 grams of powder fentanyl, 9 firearms, and $80,714 in U.S. currency.

On May 16, 2024, a large-scale, multi-agency arrest operation was carried out in Wichita Falls and Vernon, Texas, involving the Wichita Falls Police Department, FBI, Texas Department of Public Safety, Wichita County Sheriff’s Office, and United States Marshal Service. Twenty-one subjects were arrested on federal conspiracy drug charges. All defendants have since pleaded guilty. Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Montes prosecuted the case.

The investigation remains a coordinated effort to combat drug trafficking and ensure community safety.
