16-year-old Arrested in June 27th Fatal Shooting on Beldart Street in Southeast Houston, Two Additional Suspects Charged
A third suspect has been apprehended in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred on June 27th, 2023, at 5919 Beldart Street. The 16-year-old male suspect, whose identity is not being disclosed due to his status as a juvenile, has been charged with capital murder and referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities.
The victim in this incident has been identified as 18-year-old Plezher Wooley. On that fateful day, Houston Police Officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to reports of a shooting at the residence on Beldart Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Wooley on the front patio, having sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced deceased. At the time of the incident, there was no known motive or suspect description.
The extensive investigation into the case led to the identification of D’ Andre Vasquez as a suspect. On July 25th, Vasquez was arrested by officers from the HPD Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team. Subsequent developments in the case uncovered Kevontae Marquise Kemp as a second suspect. On September 20th, Kemp was taken into custody by officers from the same team and subsequently booked into the Harris County Jail.
The most recent development in the case occurred on Monday, October 9th, when officers from the Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team apprehended the juvenile male suspect and subsequently filed charges against him in connection with the tragic shooting.
